Your pool, at the right level.

SkimmerSense tops up your pool from the garden hose when the water drops, and warns you early when water loss looks like a leak. Wireless, battery powered, and installed in about five minutes.

Pools lose water every day. Some of it is a leak.

Most owners only notice when the pump starts gulping air or the water bill jumps.

Summer evaporation adds upHot, windy days can take inches of water out of a pool in a week, so you end up dragging the hose out again and again.

Low water is hard on equipmentWhen the level drops below the skimmer opening, the pump can run dry and wear out early.

Leaks hide inside normal water lossA small leak looks like a hot week. By the time it's obvious, it has often run for a month, and finding a trusted leak inspector takes days.

Two small devices. No wiring, no plumbing work.

A sensor in the skimmer talks to a smart valve on your hose tap over long-range radio. The valve connects to your home Wi-Fi so the app can show you what's happening.

How the SkimmerSense system fits in a backyard A sensor sits in the pool skimmer and sends a radio signal across the pool to a valve on the house's outdoor tap. A garden hose runs from the valve into the pool. The valve connects over Wi-Fi to the cloud, which sends updates to a phone app. Kept at your target level 2 Radio signal VALVE Cloud Home Wi-Fi Level OK No leaks 1 Sensor reads level 3 Valve tops up pool 4 App: level and alerts
  1. Sense

The skimmer sensor checks the water level every 10 to 15 minutes.

  2. Send

It sends a tiny long-range radio message to the valve, then goes back to sleep.

  3. Fill

If the water is low, the valve opens and closes again once the pool is back at your target level.

  4. Notify

The app shows the level, every fill, and any alerts, wherever you are.

What's in the box

Skimmer sensor

  • Sits under the skimmer lid, no drilling
  • Battery with a small solar panel
  • Sealed against chlorine and salt water

Smart valve

  • Screws onto your outdoor hose tap
  • Battery powered, no outlet needed
  • Stays closed unless it's filling

It learns what normal looks like, so it can spot a leak.

Over the first couple of weeks, SkimmerSense learns how much water your pool usually needs. When daily water loss climbs well above that, you get an alert, and we can connect you with a vetted local leak specialist if you'd like.

Example: daily refill time over two weeks For nine days refill time stays near a normal baseline of about 11 minutes. From day ten it rises each day to about 38 minutes, and a leak alert is sent. Normal baseline Leak alert sent Daily refill minutes over two weeks (illustrative example)

Without SkimmerSense

  1. Day 1A small leak starts.
  2. Weeks 1 to 3It looks like ordinary evaporation.
  3. Week 4 or laterA high water bill, and possibly damage.

With SkimmerSense

  1. Day 1A small leak starts.
  2. Days 3 to 5Water loss rises above your pool's normal.
  3. Same dayYou get an alert and an introduction to a vetted leak pro.

Illustrative timeline. How quickly a leak shows up depends on its size, the weather and how the pool is used.

Questions

Could it overfill my pool or flood the yard?

The valve stays closed unless it's filling. Every fill has a time limit, and the valve closes if the sensor goes quiet or a battery runs low. You get an alert whenever a safety limit is reached.

Do I need the subscription?

No. Auto-fill works with the kit alone. SkimmerSense Plus adds leak alerts, fill history, remote control and sharing with your pool pro.

Will it work with my pool?

It's designed for most in-ground pools with a standard skimmer and an outdoor hose tap within a typical backyard's distance.

How long do the batteries last?

The goal is a full swim season or more. The app warns you weeks before a battery runs low.

Who can see my data?

Only you, unless you choose to share it with your pool service professional or ask us to connect you with a leak specialist.
